Mother of all skills: Articulation
If you feel your CV alone can help you land your dream job, you are sorely mistaken! Irrespective of the long list of achievements and an equally long list of certifications that your professional profile may have, you need to demonstrate your ability to think on your feet and pass across your message in a short, clear and a quick way during your interview.
You may have worked for years and decades to achieve or learn something, but if you are unable to communicate those achievements or learning in an articulate way during that one hour, or maybe less, that you get with a stranger across the table, you are simply not going to get the opportunity that you have been yearning for.
All those years of hard work might serve you no good if you cannot get your points across in a very short period of time. This does seem unfair, but just like other things in life, it is what is it is. So, regardless of the career path you have chosen, make sure you work harder on your ability to talk about what you already have or know.
